Marriage Gate/ The battle for marriages

Ephesians 5 paints a picture of marriage, of washing each others feet, of honoring, of what it takes to have a GREAT MARRIAGE!
When I was asked to paint a potrayal of the "marriage Gate" and the battle for marriage being only between one man and one woman. The image of a man washing his brides feet kept coming to my heart. Steps leading up this wall representing the journey and the crack being the reality of what is happening as we have to VOTE on what marriage should look like!
As I finished the piece, the images, I felt the Lord saying I want you to paint the "battle". I began to ask HOW? The next thought that came was to throw black paint on the piece!! I immediantly asked ,"Lord is that You?". I had just put several hours into this piece. I was assured it was Him. I mixed the paint PRAYED and threw paint on the work. Amazingly it never touched the bride and only hit the grooms shoulder. As I looked and prayed I knew it still was not finished. As I sought the Lord for the next step I began to feel that I was to paint the VICTORY. When I asked how and when, once again it was to throw paint, but this time in a specific light turqouis color. I was to paint it the night of the 24 hours of prayer. After my husband and I had prayed for marriages. I was a little nervous because this was in a NEW church with NEW carpet and New paint. The Lord assured me it would be okay. When I knew it was time I took my paint and threw it over the black declaring VICTORY IN MARRIAGES. I stepped back and looked at the piece and slowly the word J O Y came into focus at the top of the piece. I could not have intentially thrown paint to write JOY. I believe God placed it there!! ~~The JOY of the Lord is our strength! We must have strength for this battle!

When you ask God about the battle for marriages, what do you hear and see?

May each morning as the sunrises bring you word of Gods unfailing love.
Receive His JOY/ His strength and take up your position and see the victory the Lord is bringing!

I can have prints of this piece made and if you interested in getting a copy just email me at jejones@integrity.com and I will get back in touch with you. May God bless you abundantly as you seek His face!

I love it, Jennifer!!! Really amazing piece and story. Thanks for sharing. I read this week, "Joy is the sign that God is everything to you." So true in marriage too.

How much are your prints? There are a couple that I like.

Jenn... I know about the JOY... I saw it before you said it when you brought it out at your house. Does this one have a home in which to dwell? Elly asked me a question about the couple at the water... I see what she said, and I was wondering if maybe this could be somewhere around the Limbaugh place?.... love you sister, and I love asking you in public places as well as face to face... somehow... well, you know me and "words"... I love saying and seeing.

Carla, The original of this piece belongs to PRA. I did it for the 24 for life. But I can do prints. SORRY I would love for the original to hang with the Limbaughs!
I LOVE YOU SISTER!!
